Joshua Levine
Joshua Levine is a Number 1 Sunday Times bestselling writer, social historian and broadcaster. He was the historical advisor for award-winning films including Dunkirk (2016) and Blitz (2024), where he collaborated with directors Christopher Nolan and Steve McQueen to help tell real people's stories in their award winning, historical epics.
Levine started his career as a barrister, practicing criminal law before pivoting towards the arts and acting. His passion for storytelling and history led him to shift focus, and he soon made his mark as a writer and broadcaster. He wrote his first play, Crash, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe and was praised for its ‘near flawless dialogue’ (Theatre Guide). Levine went on to write radio plays and present documentaries for the BBC, Channel 4 and Channel 5. He has written many articles for national newspapers including this recent feature for The Sunday Times on the real child evacuees of World War II. Levine is an International Ambassador for the Royal Air Force Museum and lives in London with his partner, the actress Claire Price, and their daughter.
